Overview

Krismarie (Kibbie) Claflin is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has worked in crisis since 2014. Kibbie received her master’s in clinical social work from the University of St Thomas and undergraduate in social work from the University of St Catherine. Her experience includes current, acute crisis assessment and intervention as well as post-crisis stabilization services and brief therapeutic treatment. For the past three (plus) years, Kibbie has been an embedded mental health professional with law enforcement serving in partnership with a dedicated police officer partner working for Dakota County Social Services. Kibbie has worked with Washington County’s Crisis Response Team in a temporary part-time role as their program was being developed. She is also as certified Crisis Negotiator serving with South Metro S.W.A.T.’s Crisis Negation Team. Kibbie is also has specialized training in trauma therapy, EMDR, Nurtured Heart and Family Systems and is fluent in American Sign Language.

She provides training of mental health, autism spectrum disorder and de-escalation to law enforcement, first responders and social workers. Kibbie has a passion for crisis work and the intersection between mental health and law enforcement. She has presented at several local, county and state about program development, crisis intervention, and the partnership with law enforcement.
