
Constitutional Policing
POST APPROVED 4 Credits (10668-00002) Constitutional Policing
Participants in this course will discuss and examine the 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments in the Constitution. Specifically, each participant will examine federal, state, and local law as it relates to constitutional policing. While examining historical precedent, and discussing changes and permutations to the law, each participant will grasp the law and concepts through a presentation with engaging discussion and hypotheticals. This hands-on approach will allow each participant to understand the law through practical application and approaches. With the legalization of Marijuana, participants will examine the new law and discuss changes to stop, search and seizure as it relates to traffics stops, search incident to arrest, and other law enforcement encounters.
