Overview
Chaunte’ Ford has a total of 13 years of law enforcement experience. She started off her career as a Community Service Officer. In just under a year as a Community Service Officer she graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. In December of 2012 she was sworn in as an officer.
During her career as an officer, she was passionate about being a part of the community that she served. She volunteered at Treehouse for her first years as an officer which really made her realize the importance of being a part of the community that she served. Over the next 10 years she led the Basketball in the Park Program, created a Employee Resource Group, served on the Crisis Negotiation Team, advocated for community members and served as a School Resource Officer.
In 2022 she left her role as a police officer to become a Juvenile Outreach Coordinator and Community Service Officer Coordinator where she wrote Requests for Proposals for non-profit organizations to work along side the police officers. She also manages the Community Service Officers.
She quickly realized she wanted to serve more communities and was hired as a Sheriff’s Deputy in 2022 where she currently works on the Community Engagement Team. She develops and maintains relationships throughout the county. She also leads a back-to-school event and cold weather drive.
Chaunte’ is also on the Crisis Negotiation Team, is a DARE instructor and is a member of the Threat Assessment Team.
In her free time, she likes to be outside in her garden, playing with her dog and boxing.
