Constitutional Law: The 4th Amendment and The Exceptions
In this course, instructors will introduce the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Article 1 Section 10 of the Minnesota Constitution, discuss how they are alike and different, importance for law enforcement, and terms for interpretation by the courts. They will then provide an in-depth analysis into the seven exceptions to warrant requirements, court considerations for warrantless searches, and how Minnesota law differs from Federal law. Lastly, they will provide a general overview of the principals for underlying automobile stops to lead to successful prosecution of their cases.
